Cikotić was questioned, Mehmedagić and Druškić should prepare

Yesterday, the Minister of Security of B&H, Selmo Cikotić, was questioned in the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He came to this judicial institution at 1 pm and stayed for more than an hour. His lawyer Fahrudin Ibrišimović was with him.

He was questioned as a suspect in the „Security Checks“ affair, and it refers to embezzlement in connection with the appointment of members of the Commission for the Second Instance Resolution of the Security Checks for Police and Civil Servants.

We remind you that the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H issued an order last week to conduct a new investigation against the Director General of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) Osman Mehmedagić, Minister Cikotić and retired OSA officer Muriz Druškić, who is a current member of the Second Instance Commission of the Council of Ministers.

Mehmedagić, Cikotić and Druškić are officially suspected of the criminal offense of Abuse of Office or Official Authority in connection with illegal appointment and participation in the work of the Commission, which resulted in the creation of general legal uncertainty for handling security checks.

According to the information which „Avaz“ has, Mehmedagić and Druškić will soon testify in the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H. A new investigation order was officially launched after a criminal complaint was filed a month ago by some police and civil servants who were denied permission secretly, which left them without a job.

Shortly afterwards, according to the order of the Prosecutor’s Office, the inspections were started by SIPA, which interrogated Cikotić’s assistant Mato Miletić in the Ministry of Security, and then the ball began to unravel. Due to this affair, all state ministers in the Council of Ministers were questioned.

Namely, it is suspected that the members of this commission, which is formally appointed by the Council of Ministers, were appointed outside the law and that the procedures and previous proposals were not followed. According to the criminal report, Sanjin Prašović was originally proposed as a member of the Commission to the Council of Ministers of B&H, and he met the conditions for this position.

He was then nominated by Minister Fahrudin Radončić, but after his resignation, Minister Bisera Turković decided at the last minute at the session of the Council of Ministers to nominate Ismail Sarić, who was then appointed. The nomination of the suspected pensioner Druškić is also disputable.

A new investigation could also result in a new indictment against Mehmedagić very soon. He was also recently accused of abusing his position due to an affair related to the illegal exclusion of video surveillance from the BH Post office in Alipašino Polje. His trial is set to begin next week.
