Najslavniji japanski modni kreator Kenzo umro je u nedjelju u 81. godini od posljedica covida-19, objavio je njegov glasnogovornik u priopćenju u nedjelju dok traje Tjedan pariške mode

Kenzo Takada je bio prvi japanski kreator koji se nametnuo u Parizu gdje je izgradio karijeru i postao slavan.  Godine 1993. je svoju marku odjeće prodao grupi LVMH  (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) i povukao se iz svijeta mode šest godina kasnije.

U kreacijama je povezivao cvjetne i grafičke motive, a nadahnuće za tekstilne motive pronalazi u folkloru, kaligrafiji i suvremenom slikarstvu.  

– Kenzo Takada je preminuo od posljedica covida-19 4. listopada 2020. u bolnici u Neuilly-sur-Seine – rekao je njegov glasnogovornik u priopćenju u nedjelju dok traje Tjedan pariške mode.

Kenzo je rođen 27. veljače 1939. u Himeji blizu Osake. U Francusku je stigao 1965. brodom u Marseille od kuda odlazi u Pariz koji ga je opčinio i gdje ostaje živjeti. Prvu kolekciju je prikazao 1970. 

Prvu liniju za muškarce predstavlja 1983., a svoj prvi parfem Kenzo Kenzo de 1988. godine.

– Japanski kreator nikada nije prestao slaviti modu i umijeće življenja – rekao je njegov glasnogovornik.
